Unit One

Over these past few months I have attended a few family get-togethers and let me tell you there is nothing so wonderul as being with family! I feel so happy having such wonderful people as my kin. Going to Utah and spending time with Mom's family filled my heart to the brim. And a few days ago I got to go celebrate little Owens birthday. Usually at family events I dont talk much; I really prefer to listen. But as I was sitting there watching everyone talk, tussle, and tease eachother I kept thinking, " This is what it's all about. This is where my joy is." And that thought made me want to laugh and cry at the same time. I really can't wait to have children of my own to love and nurture.

Anyway in other news I'm assistant coaching a 5th & 6th grade girls basketball team! I'm doing it with my friend Ashley and it is SO much fun! The girls are sweet and goofy, making me want to hug them all to death haha. They work hard and seeing them perform in games is so rewarding. The coordinator is extremely impressed with Ashley and I; in fact he has asked us to coach the All-Star girls team ( a team of the best girls from both participating teams) as well. We also put together and ran a two hour clinic this last Saturday. It was a huge success! Getting to spend so much time teaching and coaching girls has been so fun for me.

Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Curtis Young! He was 19 yesterday! Degen, Breanna, and I went to his house to give him his gift as well as his birthday spanks hahaha. Poor Curt didn't know it was coming till too late.

Weekend with Ashley and Breanna

Hello all!
This weekend has been pretty fun i must say! I got to go to two basketball games (yay!), drive around town (with the windows down and the volume up) take crazy pictures here and there, and generally have a good time! Since this town is so small it's tough to figure out something fun to do every weekend but this weekend was definitely a successful adventure.

Hobo Night!

Hello everyone!

For months now Breanna and I have been wanting to dress like hobo's and camp out under a bridge. However the fear of encountering a real hobo had always kept us from realizing this dream. A few weeks ago though we finally did it! We dressed up, covered ourselves with charcoal, got some food together, and invited a few friends! For hobo's we really lived it up I must say (tinfoil chicken dinners, starburst & marshmellow roasting?! mmmm!). We ended up not actually sleeping under a bridge (too dangerous) but it was a great night .

Halloween Explosion!

Holy Moley this last saturday was INSANE!!!! Both Halloween and Homecoming fell on the same day and of course I had to partake of the goodness and spirit of each! For the homecoming game we decided to paint ourselves up and wear darling little tu-tu's. Well at least us girls did!! Thanks again to the guys who got painted up with us! :) {This is Curt Young, pretty much my soul brother}

Then after freezing till halftime (and staying around long enough to cheer for my buddy Alan as he conducted the band like a champ) we made our way home, showered off, and got ready for the Halloween party. We were princesses, and I was Snow White! :)

We partied like fools and had such an amazing time! It's been forever since I've been able to cut loose and have a good time. It was a much needed break from the stress of school and life in general. Of course there is always drama (this town is too small to avoid it) but it was overall a hugely successful day!

Fall Frenzy!!

This saturday Austin, myself and my friend Danny had the chance to go to part of Fall Frenzy. It's a three day event where a bunch of different popular bands came and performed in Tempe. It was awesome!! I got to see Blink 182, Fall Out Boy, and Anberlin. The crows were insane and during the Blink concert Austin and I were in the thick of the crowd (Danny had wandered off to hang with some friends). We were pushed and shoved about, people crowding in so close I couldn't even turn around. Mosh pits formed all around us, people crowd surfed, girls passed out from the heat, and drunk/high people fought strangers with extreme vigor. It was a really high energy crowd and i got swept up in it; screaming at the top of my lungs, singing along, jumping around, head banging, and generally going nuts. I also got myself three Blink shirts and a Flogging Molly shirt. I was there from 4pm till after midnight! I had a really really good time :)
